Plate, soft-paste porcelain, circular shape with rounded tapering foot-rim, curving sides and spreading rim, a scalloped edge to the rim; the upperside of the dish covered with a scale blue ground against which are reserved several panels of differeing sizes left in the white and enclosed by gilt scroll cartouches, a circular panel to the centre of the well contains three insects delicately panted in polychrome enamels, the panels to the sides of the well and the rim contain similarly painted insects and exotic birds stood amongst foliage, a gilt band to the edge of the rim.
