Emlyn brickworks, slide
Emlyn Brickworks, Penygroes, with workmen and rollers, Penygroes, Dyfed. Note the raw (unfired) black bricks (known as 'Green' bricks) in the foreground. The clay was mixed with coal from the waste tips of the former colliery until it became unprofitable to attempt to extract it from the increasingly poorer quality material.
