Plate
Small plate, earthenware, circular shape with rounded foot-rim, cushion-moulded sides and spreading rim, a very slightly raised edge to the well; transfer-printed in blue outline and partially overpainted in blue and red and heightened with yellow to imitate gold, with to the centre of the well the 'Amherst Japan' pattern, in the foreground a stylized basket issuing spreading sprays of imari-style flowers and foliage, in the background a small pagoda with a fence in front of it, to the rim and extending down the sides of the well sprays of imari-style flowers and scrolling foliage, to the outer rim six panels of stylized yellow leaves on a dark blue ground.
