Figure of Robert Burns, white earthenware with a blue tinted crackle glaze, on a roughly shaped oval base inscribed in raised capitals with traces of gilding. Figure largely white and gilt, wearing black calf length boots with brown turnover tops, white stockings, white knee breeches, white waistcoat, long coat, shirt with a high collar, neck tie, faintly pink plaid over his left shoulder and down his left side, naturalistically coloured face, black hair, left arm bent and resting a book with yellow edged pages and a green cover against an elaborately moulded rococo pillar with ?thistles around the base, weight resting on left leg, right leg slightly extended and turned out.
