Pot-lid
Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Strathfieldsaye', showing a parkland landscape with in the foreground a group of mle figures on horseback and in the background deer and a country house across a small lake, the print enclosed by a narrow circular fancy border, around the bottom of the border is the inscription "STRATHFIELDSAYE THE SEAT OF THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON". The glaze crazed, the flange chipped.
