Oxwich Castle, film negative
An aerial view of Oxwich castle. At the top of the photograph is Oxwich bay, with the wreck of the Norwegian tanker SOLAR.
The Norwegian tanker SOLAR, torpedoed January 1945 in Cardigan bay, taken in tow and beached at Oxwich. She was carrying 7,500 tons of oil and 37 crates of aircraft parts, all of which were salvaged. The SOLAR lay in the bay for many years.
