Jug, bone china, with a creamy buff translucency, and finely crackled glaze; standing on a cylindrical foot rim, pouch-shaped with twelve faceted sides, scalloped lip and high curved spout (handle missing); inscribed in gilt below the spout with 'Captn. / Thomas Matheson / 1828', flanked by two freely painted large flower sprays; gilt lip.
