S.S. SAMLORIAN, glass negative
Three quarter starboard bow view of S.S SAMLORIAN at Cardiff, c.1946/1947 (showing "bandstands" still in place (but without armaments)).
S.S. SAMLORIAN (7255gt). Built 1944 by J. A. Jones Construction Company, Brunswick, Georgia, for MOWT (managed by E.R. Management Co., Cardiff). 1947 - Sold to Strath Steamship Co, London, and renamed HELMSPEY. 1949 - Sold to Evan Thomas, Radcliffe & Co., Cardiff and renamed LLANOVER. 1951 - Sold to Liberian Shipping Inc., Monrovia, and renamed CAPESTAR (managed by the Triton Shipping Co., New York). 1960 - Transferred to Greek registry (same owners) and renamed ATHLOS. She was broken up in 1966 at Sakei, Japan.
