Roman copper alloy lorica segmentata buckle
D-shaped buckle and plate, the other end of which still has the loop for the hinge attaching it to the fixed plate. The plate is three layers thick for most of its length as it is folded right back on itself from both ends. All three layers are secured by a single square-headed rivet in a hole encircled by punched concentric rings.
