Early Iron Age bronze socketed axe
Small mouth and upper face fragment. Axe has a simple near flat collar 9.1mm wide with an onset edge. The mouth is markedly rectangular in plan with a curved corner, whilst the inside lip of the mouth is angled and concave, rather than flat. An angular edge on the upper face and at right angles to the collar appears to be a facet. (Possibly from a Type Gillespie faceted axe.)
