Dish, meat
Large oval meat dish, 'Well and Tree' shape, earthenware with a blue-tinged glaze, the dish has a convex flange with upturned lobed edge with a deep well at the right side, it sits on two raised feet that follow the curve of the dish and the underside of the well; transfer printed in underglaze blue with a stylised 'Indian Sporting' scene comprising three doghandlers in the foreground, with buildings and two other dog handlers in the background, around the flange are scenes of animals in their natural environment including tigers, bears, sea birds and wild boar, the print overlaps in places, indicating that it has been trimmed to fit the flange.
