Newborough (Anglesey) Common seal impression
A clinker-built single-masted ship with large crenellated stern-castle and smaller fore-castle, which supports a bowsprit. The mast supports a crows' nest and pennant flag. Thestern-castle is reminiscent of the (late 14th cent.) Bremen cog, but the flat bed and straight stern and stern-posts ofthe cogare not visible, and the method of construction suggests another ship-type.
