Dish, dessert, centre
Centre dish, clear white translucency, glaze with slight yellowish tinge, especially where it has pubbled around the mouldings, and shrinking back inside the foot. Circular form, standing on a shallow spreading stepped foot, columnar collared stem swelling to a flange, shallow bowl, the rim moulded in six large and six small lobes and with the stand ard 'Nantgarw' moulding of C-scrolls, ribbon-tied foliage wreaths and florets. Extensive gilt decoration, comprising two broad lines to the foot, and bands of wheat and foliage flanking the collar; the exterior of the bowl with two concentric lines of berries, and the C-scroll etc moulding repeated in gilt on the underside of the rim. The interior decorated with gilding on the relief mouldings, and with the two further lines of berries on the cavetto; the centre painted in greens, browns, greys and blues with a landscape comprising a walking figures on the tow path of a broad river, houses on either side, high mountains beyond below a cloudy sky.
