Sucrier with cover
Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Sucrier and cover of soft-paste porcelain with creamy translucency; London shape, oblong with rounded corners, spreading foot, bulbous body and concave shoulder; two horizontal scrolled loop handles with splayed terminals; a plateau-shaped cover with pyramidal knop with a gadroon-moulded band. Painted with sprays of small flowers (three on each side, three on the cover); the foot, shoulder, rim and edges of the cover lined in gilt; the handles partly gilt with dots and on details of the scrolls. There is a tear beneath one handle.
