Pot-lid
Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top, the flange and underside of the lid partially obscured by the frame; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Windsor Castle' (although this title is not recorded on the lid), showing an outdoors scene with in the foreground a number of male figures, some on horseback, hare coursing with hounds, in the background a large castle flying a flag, the print enclosed by a narrow circular line border. The glaze crazed, a large chip to the upperside of the lid. The pot-lid mounted for display in a close-fitting circular wooden frame painted black.
