RUG-MAKING EXAMPLES
Rag-rug sample (looped/hooked) made with metal hook on 6x6 inch hessian backing, black cotton border with light blue triangles and pink/blue patterned diamond in centre. Alison Morton label tied to sample with hand drawn diagram and note ‘METAL HOOK worked from the front – long lengths of Rag hooked through hessian’. AM notebook: ‘During winter 1984/85 Made 6" square samples using the different tools I have collected. 2 Tufted and 2 looped. Black border with different coloured triangles and centres’.
