Hirwaun Ironworks, photograph
Photograph captioned 'Hirwaun Ironworks. In common with all ironworks of the period, molten iron from the blast furnaces flowed along channels of sand in the floors of cast houses. In these channels the iron solidified and lengths known as 'pigs' were formed. A part of the gable end of one of the cast houses now stands in ruins.' Mounted on card. Made for the exhibition RECORDING WALES 3 in 1970/1971.
