Child’s chair/commode
Initialled IL, made by Isaac Lewis, carpenter, of Bryngwyn, Raglan, died c.1830.
Wing rocking chairs were common from the end of the 17th-19th cents.The wide skirts of the chairs generally formed the rockers. Often they were of the commode variety – sometimes the potholes were provided with lids. The original pots were usually of pewter.
