Iron Age copper alloy belt fitting
Copper alloy belt fitting with a flat back and formed by a loop terminating with incurving trumpets. The button is small and circular and attached to the loop by two curving arms, the ends of which have broken off. A similar, although slightly larger, belt fitting was found at Hengistbury Head, Dorset (Cunliffe, 1987) and is paralleled by a find from Stradonice in the Czech Republic. This type of fitting is more commonly found in Europe and dates to the Late Iron Age La Tene III period.
