Officers overall trousers. Denbigshire Yeomanry cavalry. Dark blue with 2 scarlet stripes; the main fabric is tabby woven but the red is made from fulled wool. 6 black metal button closure at front; Buttons are stamped with 'EXCELSIOR'. 6 further buttons of same type on outside along waist for attachment of braces; those two at the centre back are reinforced with strips of black glazed fabric. Waist lined with strip of white cotton twill. Small white twill-lined pocket at proper right waist; rear of pocket (the upper edge of which is made of the dark blue wool fabric) is slightly curved, rising above the waistline to facilitate access. Top edge of waist is bound with black bias tape; black glazed fabric facing on proper right side of front clousure. Same glazed fabric used as lining of covered button holes. Leather straps with 1-prong steel buckle are stitched to the cuff of the leg to secure underneath boots. Cuffs of legs are shaped and rise to a peak above the boots. Single turn-backs at leg cuffs are hand stitched.
