Tureen, cream
Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Cream tureen, soft-paste porcelain with a yellow tinged, white translucency; standing on a shallow, stepped pedestal foot, curved sides to shoulder, concave curved collar; two upturned double spindle handles with floret discs and moulded mask terminals (one half of one handle missing); ogee profile cover with a pinecone finial; painted with an all-over pattern of stylised cornflower sprigs in blue enamel with round green leaves, and gilt trefoil leaf sprigs; gilt band to foot rim and shoulder, gilt dentilled edge to lip and rim of cover, gilt detail to handles and finial.
