Ystradgynlais, film negative
Aerial view of Ystalyfera Grammar School at Ystradgynlais. View of school seen from the west, with slag tips of Ynyscedwyn Ironworks at the top of the image. The "colonades" are the remnants of an unfinished rolling mill and forge from the 1870s, and the group of buildings with the tall chimney in front, is the tinplate works (former iron works). Early blast furnaces are apparent in the heavy masonary retaining wall (with arches at the bottom). Later blast furnaces were sited in front of this.
