Butter-dish and cover
Butter dish, pearlware, circular form with short cylindrical sides and spreading rim, round cover with cylindrical sides and flat top, to the centre of the cover a ball finial; transfer-printed in underglaze blue with the 'Forest Landscape' pattern, to the interior bottom of the dish, the exterior sides of the dish, and the top of the cover chinoiserie landscapes with trees, apgodas and a figure punting a boat, around the sides of the cover, the rim of the dish and the interior bottom of the dish a border of stylized flowers and angular scrollwork against a cell-pattern ground.
