Late Bronze Age bronze socketed axe
Blade end fragment of socketed axe, showing marked widening and recurving of blade sides. Break occurred at base of dished socket, visible across break (22.2mm long, 8.3mm wide). Blade edge completely preserved and sharp. Striations near parallel to edge indicate sharpening of the blade. Casting seams visible but look worked down. Original bronze exposed over much of blade fragment, with some light green, green and black patination.
