Baker, Bevans and Irwin, Glamorgan Pottery (1813-1839)
Mug, earthenware, rounded spreading foot-rim moulded with anthemions, cylindrical body with a number of regularly-spaced shallow incised lines running down it, lip-rim moulded with anthemions, scrolled loop handle with a raised foliate moulded thumb-spur; transfer-printed in black with to the exterior sides of the body two different rural scenes showing figures by the side of a river with trees and buildings in the background, black bands to the exterior and interior lip-rim, black anthemions and further black markings to the handle, a brownish tinge to the glaze, a large chip to one side of the lip-rim from which a crack spreads down the side of the body.
