Roman copper alloy seal box
Base of a rectangular seal box with the usual lateral holes (for string) and three holes in the base (to allow flow of wax). The iron hinge-shank penetrates the length of the thickest side and its position, and the slight lip at the lower edge, indicate that the lid would have deeply overlapped the base.
