Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Plate, earthenware, standing on a tapering foot rim, rounded spreading sides, moulded with a vine leaf, extending to the rim, issuing layered foliage and radiating patterns of veins from a curving central stalk, on a basketwork ground, apparent on the outer sections of the rim not covered by the leaf moulding; transfer printed in green with the 'Swan' pattern; in the centre, a swan on water, with a bird in flight and a waterfall, surrounded by ornate scrolls, foliage and floral motifs; the rim printed in green with a dentilled border within scrolls, interspersed with scrolling foliate motifs.
