Seal impression: Royal
Obverse. The king, vested in coronation robes and low crown of three points, seated on a panelled backless throne with foot-board; in his left hand he holds a an orb topped by a long cross paty with decorative stem, his right hand holds a broad sword slightly inclined towards his head. The legend shews the transition from Roman to Lombardic script and, for the first time, includes the ascription, Lord of Ireland.
