Seal impression: Royal
Obverse. The king, crowned and seated in a flowing dress below a tripartite canopy which extends into the circle of the legend, his left hand holds a sceptre topped with ‘the hand of mercy’, his right grasps a sceptre flory. At his feet are two lions couchant reguardant and addorsed. In field, two crowned shields: dext. FRANCE (Modern), sin. quarterly, FRANCE (Modern) and ENGLAND. Cusped border. (The cross paty preceding the legend lies obliquely).
