Pearl-glazed earthenware large jug, baluster shaped, strap handle, moulded leafy spout; painted in enamel with band of yellow and green tongues around base, medallion on each side, one inscribed in black with 'TRADE & AGRICULTURE' opposite inscribed in black and brown with 'SUCCESS TO NY' and border of this medallion inscribed 'UNITED AND FIRM WE SUPPORT THE GOOD CAUSE PRESERVING OUR COUNTRY RELIGION AND LAWS', gilt monogram under spout 'JMH' within circle border of pink roses; brown enamel band of fruiting vines under rim, further brown enamel strokes on handle under line of gilt beading, brown enamel delineating moulding of spout; gilt rim.
