Cup, tea and saucer
Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Teacup and saucer, soft-paste porcelain, the cup with a creamy buff translucency, the saucer with a deep buff translucency and crackled glaze; cup standing on a cylindrical foot rim, rounded shallow bowl; loop handle extended above the lip; saucer set on a flat unglazed base, rounded spreading sides; both painted with an all-over pattern of stylised cornflower sprigs in blue, pink, and green enamels, and one sprig inside the bowl; gilt continuous c-scroll and dot border inside cup lip; gilt dentilled lip, gilt band to foot rim, and gilt lines to the handle.
