Medieval ceramic floor tile
Lewis Group 51 No.728 Counter relief. Under an arched canopy, a man in a hood with liripipe and a close-fitting tunic with pendant sleeves, a purse suspended from his belt, stands between two trees regarding himself in a mirror held in his left hand; at the foot of the tree to the left is a dog. The costume suggests a date not before c.1340 (Scott 1986, Cunningham 1952) BM Design 273 (Wenlock Priory); Chirbury Priory.
