Tongs
Round mouth tongs for holding hot round bars from the forge. One example of the very large number of different types of tongs used by the blacksmith to hold pieces of work of various shapes and sizes. The handles were usually at least twenty inches/51cm long to keep the hot metal well away from the hand.
