Waistcoat
Waistcoat made from black silk fabric with a green and yellow brocaded design of small flowers. Worn by Gareth Jones when a member of Parti'r Gest folk dancing group, 1955-6. Edges bound by green grosgrain ribbon. Two very small patch pockets at waist and four round, domed, brown plastic buttons down the centre front. One black popper button stitched to the outside on the lower left and right front. This is corresponding with poppers on inside of frock coat (.2). The back of the waistcoat is made up of plain cotton sateen fabric which has a long split up the back which can be fastened with two sets of cotton tape ties. Ties are made from bias-cut tape. A blue mark on the sateen indicates where the ties were to be stitched.
