Evans & Glasson, Cambrian Pottery (1851 - 1862)
Soup plate, earthenware, standing on a rounded foot-rim with deep curving sides and spreading rim, a slightly raised edge to the well, the rim notched and lobed; transfer-printed in red with to the centre of the well a Venetian style scene of a canal and quayside with sailing boats and figures in the foreground, Romanesque church in the background, border to the rim of intertwining ivy leaves interspersed with three small panels containing further Italianate scenes of buildings and quaysides, the panels enclosed within cartouches of scrolls.
