Waiter, tin-plate, circular shape with upturned sides; the underside covered with a black japan, the upperside covered with a tortoiseshell japan, the top layer of which has worn off so the the patches of red pigment can clearly be seen, the well decorated in silver to which the varnish has given a golden tinge, with a floral spray to the centre and a trellis border around the edge.
