Woollen canvas ground embroidered with coloured silks in cross, satin, chain, split, gobelin and buttonhole wheel stitches. Border of a straight stem with strawberries and acorns. In middle: maker's inscription and date with an unusual house flanked by two trees below and verse from Ecclesiastes above. Remaining space is filled with floral, flowering plant and tree motifs, birds, parrots in cages, stags, butterflies, squirrels and crowns, arranged symmetrically in pairs. Contemporary frame.
