Console bracket, biscuit earthenware or terracotta, comprising a greyish red body oxidised on the surface to a fine orange red (some abrasion to the highlights), several firing cracks, slip cast and assembled; in the form of a shelf, pierced with a circular hole and with a moulded lip, supported by a figure of a mermaid in her relief, wreathed with reeds and carrying a shell on her shoulders, against a ground of a net and reeds, her swirling tail resting on a shell at the base; hollow cast and with a hole for fixing screws behind the elbows.
