Penmachno Woollen Mill (In 1839 a fulling mill was established in Penmachno, on land owned by the Penrhyn Estate. Known in Welsh as a pandy, it was converted into a woollen mill in 1894 by the leaseholder, Hannah Jones and her sons. By 1913 the family had purchased the freehold which enabled them to develop the site. In that year, the mill was rebuilt and new machinery installed. The Joneses and their staff produced woven blankets and cloth at Penmachno until 1968. The business was sold to Craftcentre Cymru in 1974 who revitalised the traditional weaving designs of Hannah Jones & Sons. Craftcentre Cymru was sold in 1992 with the mill finally closing in 1997. Am dros ganrif a hanner, roedd y diwydiant gwlân yn ganolog i fywyd ym mhentref Penmachno. Yn 1839 agorwyd pandy yno, uwchlaw’r afon, ar dir a oedd yn eiddo i Stâd Penrhyn. Yn 1894 datblygwyd y pandy yn felin wlân gan Hannah Jones a’i meibion. Erbyn 1913 roedd y teulu yn berchen ar y safle. Yn y flwyddyn honno, ailadeiladwyd y felin a’i llenwi â pheiriannau newydd. Yno bu’r Jonesiaid a’u staff yn gwehyddu carthenni a brethynnau tan 1968 pan fu farw’r mab olaf, John Rees Jones. Yn 1974 daeth bywyd newydd i Felin Penmachno pan werthwyd y busnes i Craftcentre Cymru. Daeth y fenter honno i ben yn 1992, ac fe gaeodd y felin ei drysau yn 1997.)
