Miniature doll
One of a set of miniature dolls made of wire and dressed in 18th century courtly style with wool and silk. There are five dolls; two couples and one positioned on a circular swing. (Accession numbers F79.124.1-3)
The dolls have been made by winding wool around a shaped wire rod. Different coloured wool and silk has been used to distinguish clothing and facial features. One of the couples appear as pierrot types with black and red bobbles and lace at the collar and wrists.
The second couple and the single doll appear in a French court fashion of eighteenth century.
