Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Plate of soft-paste porcelain with white translucency; standing on a tapering foot rim, with cushion-moulded and slightly curved sides; a lobed rim (six large and six small lobes), moulded in relief with scrolls, flowers and tied ribbons; six moulded grooves round the edge of the well. Painted with three birds in a conventional landscape, with two flying insects; six insects painted on the rim; the rim and the edge of the well lined in gilt.
