Baker, Bevans and Irwin, Glamorgan Pottery (1813-1839)
Basin, earthenware, standing on a rounded spreading waisted foot, rounded curving sides, a gadrooned edge to the exterior lip-rim; transfer-printed in blue with to the interior bottom of the bowl an Italianate scene showing to one side a church-like with a castellated tower and to the other side a monopteros, between the two buildings are two figures, in the foreground are a number of flowers and foliage, in the background a landscape of trees, buildings and hills, wide border to the exterior and the interior sides of flowers, foliage and scrolls on a stippled blue ground surmounted by a narrow dentilled band, a crack extends around most of the foot and base.
