Jug
Jug, pearlware with a blue tinge to the glaze, rounded foot-rim, bulbous body, cylindrical neck, elongated beak spout, angular handle; decorated with to the front ogf the body the inscription "Samuel Richards / Boiler Maker" painted in gilt, to one side of the body a painted scene showing a semi-spherical capped boiler by the side of an early mine, the other side of the body painted with a large spray of flowers, an apricot ground to the neck flanked by gilt border, a blue band around the foot-rim, gilt decoration to the spout and handle.
