Brooch
Small rectangular brooch. Given in 1919 as a gift from Dame Nellie Melba to Madame Leila Megane.
Gold edging containing alternately eight faceted diamonds (at each corner) and six oblong cut emeralds along top and bottom, with two emeralds at each side. Centre of brooch filled with silver grid containing 28 tiny pearls. Silver plate on centre of reverse, inscribed. Gold pin. Contained in original box covered in pink leatherette, lined with satin, with jeweller's name printed in lid (Boucheron).
