Cup and saucer, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain; cup standing on a straight sided foot rim, London shape, and ogee handle; saucer on a foot rim, with straight spreading sides; the cup painted in polychrome enamels, a landscape with two cottages and two figures in the foreground overlooking a river, and a building on the other bank; a plain gilt band to the foot rim and lip, and foliate gilt decoration on the handle; the saucer painted in polychrome enamels with a central landscape with two figures near a river, two more figures on a bridge, and buildings on either side; a plain gilt band to the lip.
