Teapot and cover, soft-paste porcelain, globular shaped body with vertically fluted sides, simple loop handle and 'S' curved spout, domed cover with pointed finial; painted with the 'Scarlet Japan' pattern, the body of the teapot and the cover are each divided by four horizontal orange bands with gilt trellis and diaper patterns with stylised flowers in reserve, between which are alternating panels of Kakeimon style flowers in green and red enamel and gilt, and branches of blosson and bamboo stems in blue, green and red enamel with gilt, the spout and handle are embellished with a simple, stylised floral design in red enamel, the finial has a bursting design in red enamel.
