Jug, pearlware, inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, globular body, cylindrical neck, plain beak spout, plain loop handle; transfer-printed in black with to the front of the exterior body a round panel enclosed by a border of foliate scrolls and containing a small rural landscape with cottages and trees, to either side of the exterior body an oval panel enclosed by foliate borders and printed with birds, flowering plants and trees, these panels surrounded by floral sprays, around the exterior neck a running border of flowers with to either side of the neck an oval panel containing a pair of birds, a floral border around the interior neck, a running pattern of flowers to the handle, the transfer-printed areas protected by a resist and the exterior of the jug and the interior neck and spout covered with silver lustre, touches of blue enamel to some of the transfer-printed areas.
