Jug, earthenware, inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, globular body, cylindrical neck, plain beak spout, square-shouldered grooved and ridged loop handle; transfer-printed in blue with to either side of the exterior body the 'Willow' pattern, to one side of the scene three figures cross a bridge overlooked by a willow tree, beyond them is a boat on an expanse of water, to the other side is a pagoda surrounded by trees with a zigzag fence in the foreground, two birds fly over the scene, to the front of the exterior body the inscription "ANDREW. DAVIES. / PLASENEWIDD / LLANWNOG / 1811" in black enamel, border to the exterior neck and spout of alternating panels of floral sprays and a small landscape scene showing a mountain across a lake with bushes and a fence in the foreground, border to the interior lip-rim of flower heads and scrolls on a blue ground, a pattern of flowers and foliage to the handle.
