S.S. INDORE (7241gt). Built 1943 as DENEWOOD by J.L. Thompson & Sons Ltd., Sunderland, for John Jacobs & Co., London. She was bombed and sunk on 24 May 1943, while being fitted out, but refloated and repaired at Blyth in the June, and served the rest of WW2 without mishap. 1945 – Sold to Maritime Shipping & Trading Co. Ltd., London, and renamed INDORE (managed by Michalinos & Co Ltd). 1961 – Transferred to United Merchants Shipping Co. Ltd., London, and renamed POLEGATE. She was broken up at Eisen & Metall AG, Hamburg, in 1967/68.
