Milk jug and cover, cream-coloured earthenware, spashed with manganese, giving a cloudy brown 'tortoiseshell' glaze; pear-shaped wheel-thrown body, standing on three short lion-mask and paw feet, sprigged with vine trails, grapes, leaves and flower-heads; angular ear-shaped strap handle with pinched lower terminal; folded sparrow-beak lip; shallow domed cover with flying bird finial.
